Drinks at the Royal Concert Hall (Monday 3rd September) 18.00 - 19.00
Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall is the venue for the conference’s opening plenary. A post-plenary drinks reception will be hosted at the Royal Concert Hall allowing delegates the opportunity to network and socialise.
Civic Reception - Glasgow Science Centre (Tuesday 4th September) 19.30 - 21.00
Glasgow’s City Council will be hosting a Civic reception on the second evening of the conference at the Glasgow Science Centre.
Located on the banks of the River Clyde opposite the SECC, Glasgow Science Centre offers a variety of unusual and exhilarating venue experiences amidst the height of contemporary cool. Officially branded a 5-star venue by VisitScotland, hospitality is provided within 3 iconic buildings. The reception will take place within the main Science Mall which houses hundreds of interactive science exhibits and puzzles throughout four open plan floors.
Ceilidh (Wednesday 5th September) 20.00 - 22.00
A ceilidh will be held for up to 220 delegates at The Barony Hall at Strathclyde University on the third evening of the conference. Requiring participants (rather than observers) ceilidhs are set Scottish dances to traditional live Scottish music, but don't be alarmed, there will be plenty of help for beginners (and a few drinks to loosen you up).
Bookings can be made by contacting the conference office and will be on a first come first served basis.
Walking & Bus Tours (daily)
Throughout the conference walking and bus tours will be bookable during early evenings. The bus tours will give a guided tour of the Glasgow’s most famous landmarks, while the walking tours will focus on more sociological aspects of Glasgow’s city centre.
