Please read the following instructions carefully before completing and submitting your abstract online.
Abstracts will only be accepted through completion of the online submission form, and submission in any other form will be declined. If you have any difficulties with the submission process, please contact the ESA conference administrator.
All abstracts should be completed in English. Individuals should not be the first author (i.e. the presenter) of more than one paper but may submit a maximum of two abstracts to the conference.
The submission form will limit the title of your abstract to 200 characters (approximately 30 words) and the length of your abstract to 1500 characters (a maximum of 200 words). You will also be given the opportunity to submit up to 5 key words for your abstract. Please make sure before you begin that your title, abstract and keywords will fit within these limitations. Tables, figures and references should not be included in your abstract.
For oral presentations only please submit your abstract under the most appropriate research stream or network. You can only submit to one research network/stream.
Once submitted the information you give us will be used to produce the abstract book for the conference and will also be forwarded to the appropriate research network/stream organiser.
All first authors must register for the conference by early summer (exact date to be confirmed) and the conference organisers reserve the right to exclude authors from the programme where a first author has not registered by this time. You will be notified of the deadline by email once your abstract has been accepted.
Audio-Visual Requirements
Please note that data-projectors and laptops will be made available throughout the conference for those who have submitted their presentation in advance. More details will be given on how to do this nearer the time.
If you require any additional audio-visual equipment, please indicate this with your abstract submission and we will endeavour to accommodate your request.
Notification of Receipt of Abstract
Once your abstract has been received you will be sent a standard reply stating that your abstract submission has been received. If you do not receive such a confirmation within 2 weeks of submission please contact the ESA administrator.
Notification of Acceptance of Abstract
Presenters will be sent an e-mail informing them whether their abstract has been accepted and will subsequently be informed by both email and letter of the day and time slot allocated for their presentation. If you do not receive the postal confirmation by 1st June 2007, please contact the ESA administrator.
It is very important that you turn up to deliver your paper! Delegates will expect you to be there, and as a courtesy to them and to other paper givers please ensure that you are present in the relevant room. If you know in advance that circumstances will prevent you being at the conference, please try to arrange for someone else to deliver the paper on your behalf. In any event, please let the ESA conference administrator and the Coordinator of your RN/RS stream as soon as possible if you are unable to deliver your paper in person.
